POGP 25th Anniversary Gala

On 18 November, the Sabat Theater in Warsaw took place a jubilee gala on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Polish Liquefied Gas Organization. The ceremony was attended by more than 100 invited guests representing the liquefied gas market.

The celebration was inaugurated by the President of the Organization Sylwester Śmigiel, who opened the official part of the event and summarized a quarter of a century of work for the development of the liquefied gas market. On behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland, MP Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, Chairman of the Council for Agriculture and Rural Areas under the President of the Republic of Poland, greeted the gathering, who handed the flag with the dedication of Andrzej Duda to Sylwester Śmigel.

On behalf of the World LPG Organization (WLPGA), the President, James Rockall, spoke, and on behalf of the European association Liquid Gas Europe, the CEO of LGE, Ewa Abramiuk-Lété. The wishes were also conveyed by representatives of sister organizations: Leszek Wiwała, President and General Director of the Polish Trade and Petroleum Industry Organization and Halina Pupacz, President of the Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels. The POGP jubilee gala was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Transport Technical Supervision.

On the occasion of the celebration of the jubilee celebrations, the awards were received by the employees of the member companies of the Polish Liquefied Gas Organization. On behalf of the Minister of Technology and Development Badges For services to the development of the economy of the Republic of Poland Poland presented by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Technology and Development Piotr Uściński.

Badge of Honor For services to the development of the economy of the Republic of Poland Poland was awarded to the chairmen of the Polish Liquid Gas Organisation in the years 1996–2021::

  • Jerzy Szablewski
  • Roman Slagowski
  • Sylwester Śmigiel.

The Badge, established by the Regulation of the Council of Ministers on 12 November 2014, is an honorary distinction awarded by the Minister responsible for economic affairs to natural and legal persons in recognition of the merits made for the development of the economy of the Republic of Poland, including in the field of obtaining beneficial economic effects determining economic growth.

Then, 13 people who in the past years have laid special merit for the LPG industry received honorary badges Distinguished service to the oil and gas industry.

Established by the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 17 November 2011, the badge is an honorary distinction awarded by the minister responsible for energy to employees of the oil and gas industry, members of professional and social organisations, and other natural and legal persons in recognition of their contributions to the development of the oil and gas industry.

Finally, Chairman Sylwester Śmigiel presented commemorative statuettes marking 25 years of POGP to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the implementation of the Organisation's statutory activities. They were awarded to:

  • Janusz Opiola
  • Robert Urbanski.

After the official part was over, the gala dinner began the entertainment part of the evening. The Sabat Theatre's performance entitled Film Review and a jubilee cake were waiting for the guests.
