New POGP President

On 3 November this year, the outgoing President of the POGP Presidium, Sylwester Śmigiel, resigned as a member of the Presidium in connection with taking on new professional duties. As of 1 June 2022 Sylwester Śmigiel was appointed CEO of SHV Gas Supply & Risk Management, based in Paris. For 22 years Sylwester Śmigiel was involved in the work of the statutory bodies of the Polish Liquefied Gas Organization, and for three terms he served as President of the Presidium.

The Plenary Meeting appointed Ewa Gawryś-Osińska, CEO of Gaspol SA, to the Presidium, and the Organization’s Presidium elected her to serve as President.

Ewa Gawryś-Osińska replaced Sylwester Śmigiel as CEO of Gaspol SA on 1 June. Earlier, since 2019, she had been CEO of Primagas Scandinavia. Her duties there also included oversight of the LPG marine terminal in Karlshamn. She has been with Gaspol since 1998, holding a range of positions in the finance and sales departments.

Ewa Gawryś-Osińska is the third woman to sit on the Presidium of the Organization - after Barbara Wiążewska and Danuta Dobrzeniecka - and the first President in the 26-year history of POGP.

Ewa Gawryś-Osińska is also the patron of the initiative to launch a Polish branch of Women in LPG - an organization supporting diversity and the professional engagement of women in the liquefied gas industry. Soon, on 8 December, the inaugural meeting of WinLPG Polska will be held, hosted by the President of POGP.
